Actually, Keith, you are confused about what "nonsense" got us into the mess were in. It is not because people choose home ownership instead of renting. The mess we're in is a result of the liberal notion that EVERYONE has a right to own a home, that everyone has a right to what everyone else has. I never said in my post that buying versus renting is a good option for people that can't afford it. That was Barney Frank and the Democrats.
I'm sure the renters of the world are relieved that they finally have you and whoever "we" is, out there seeking out all the propaganda and setting America straight. But substituting anger for facts doesn't fly.

And just for the record, Keith, agreement is not required to have your comment posted, but civil language is. You will not see your second comment posted here.

Oh I am so sick of this BS. Di I care if they "favor" owners over renters? Not. Second THESE PEOPLE DO NOT OWN THEIR HOMES! The bank does...stop saying owners like it's somehow going to be true the more you say it.

It's this kind of pure nonsense that got this country into the mess it's in. Thank you lakenormanhomes for your complte ignorance and willingness to get us into more garbage. You are scraping the bottom now hoping you will get someone to listen. But we are now out here finding every post you leave and every utternace of propoganda you spout to refute it outright.

I got more of the impression you were using the fact NC has a dislike for EIFS to support an argument that EIFS is inherently flawed. My mistake.
I wasn't aware that it had completely fallen out of favor in some states, which is interesting because last time I checked it was thriving in Florida. It's popularity is off the charts in L.A as well apparently. I'm glad we can all learn something.

I do however believe that EIFS is a superior building cladding, backed with more science and testing than any other, and that education as opposed to avoidance is the key. With the addition of an air-moisture barrier against the substrate and a drainage layer, there is no longer the threat of moisture getting to, or becoming trapped on wooden substrates. I hope your readers enjoy what I've posted.

Glad to hear the EIFS industry is doing well. at least in Toronto. But down here in the hot & humid south, the issue with the system concerned trapping moisture which led to mold problems, the bain of a homeseller's existense. Because of that, no one seems to be building with it in the area.
I take issue with your comment that my post is "filled with misleading and outdated information." My description of the system is still basically accurate, the problems I described are real, and I said it was in the '90s. We both agree that an inspection is necessary. According to what you have shared with my readers, the system has made some improvements, and testing procedures have gotten sophisticated. You may be 100% right to claim that the moisture problems have been solved and EIFS is a viable option for siding a home. That doesn't change the fact that here in North Carolina the product has fallen out of favor, and I don't see much rebound yet. So from my POV the post is spot on, and your post is new and good information. No matter what your opinion, it is always welcome. Agreement is not required.
